PURPOSE OF TENSION LOAD TEST
Tensial load test provides the relationship between loads – lateral displacement of the pile to determine the lateral load-bearing capacity of the single pile.
METHOD OF TENSION LOAD TEST
Tension load test is performed by applying load along the pile axis so that the pile is pulled out from the ground. The applied load is made by a hydraulic jack system operating under a hydraulic pump with a reaction system of test beams and concrete blocks.
Test beams are placed on 2 support bearings as reaction system for hydraulic jack (support bearings are two available anchors or concrete block). Hydraulic jack is placed directly on the test beams. Hydraulic jack is connected to test pile by bearing anchors and cylindrical steel plate with holes for bolting. Standard beams for mounting displacement gauges are symmetrically arranged both sides of the test pile. The distance from the support bearings and standard beams to the test pile are arranged according to the prescribed standards.
