PURPOSE OF EXTENSOMETER TEST
Extensometer test is conducted to measure extensometer of bored piles under axial compression load. Using the sensor Model A9 Retrievable Extensometer of Geokon – USA to measure the deformation of each bored pile segment.
METHOD OF EXTENSOMETER TEST
The Extensometer A-9 system consists of pneumatically actuated anchors with spring loaded transducers that are connected to one another in series by single connecting rod. The anchors are fixed in place and the transducers measure the deformation between the anchor positions.
The Extensometer A-9 system will be fixed in the sonic tube in pile at certain levels before loading. Under loading increments and decrements, pile segments are deformed leading spring loaded transdures deform follow. Data from sensors are transmitted to automatic reading devices via signal cables. From the data obtained, we can determine the deformation of the pile by specialized formulas.
