PURPOSE OF NOISE MONITORING
- Determining the noise level affecting public health according to the current allowable standards;
- Determining the impact of separate noise sources or group of noise sources;
- Providing information to help with noise control planning;
- Evaluating noise pollution evolution over time and space;
- Warning about noise pollution;
- Meet the requirements of environmental management of Local and Government.
METHOD OF NOISE MONITORING
Selecting location of noise monitoring points according to national standards TCVN 5964:1995. In there, note the following points:
- The selected location must be specific to the area to be monitored (must have the specified coordinates);
- Avoiding negative reflections;
- Avoiding sources of artificial interference: music, metal bumps, children frolic, …;
- Selecting the monitoring position where has the most stable sound transmission with constant wind component from noise sources.
The equipment used is integral noise meters with a frequency analyzer. In the absence of an integral noise meter, using an exposure noise meter.
When performing outdoor measurements, the sound reflections must be reduced to minimum. Measurements must perform at least 3.5 meters from the negative reflection structure, excluding the ground. When there are no other regulations, the measuring height is 1.2-1.5 meters above the ground.
